In German football stadiums it is forbidden to carry any kind of weapon: firearms, knives, clubs, CS gas sprays as well as other dangerous and forbidden objects (brass knuckles, nunchakus etc.).

Such weapons are also forbidden at other public events, for instance in “Fun Parks”. Bottles and the like which could be used as missiles in stadiums are also forbidden.

Some police tips:

• Do not carry weapons or similar objects.
• If you bring weapons or similar objects into the stadium, you risk being banned from the stadium and render yourself liable to prosecution.
• Weapons and objects which you happen to be carrying for self-defence can be also used against you by others. This is why the police insist that you should not carry any weapons or the like.
• The police have found that weapons frequently cause violence to escalate and contribute to increasing damage.
