Tickets for the FIFA World Cup 2006 could be booked on the internet under www.fifaworldcup.com
or by mail or fax using the official WM 2006 order form, stating your
personal data and identity card numbers. No tickets are available on the
open market.
The fourth selling phase is still running up to 15 April. In this phase,
tickets will be sold on a "first come, first served" basis. The
"last-minute sale" phase will start on 1 May when the tickets that are
left are offered on www.fifaworldcup.com.
It is possible that tickets will be available on non-match days at the
"Stadium Ticket Centres" (STC) at the 12 WM venues.
To guarantee the greatest possible security and to stop black market
trading, an RFID chip (Radio Frequency Identification chip) has been
integrated into the ticket. The ID number on this chip corresponds to the
data set belonging to this ID number in the ticket system. Moreover, the
name of the person entitled to enter the stadium is printed on the ticket.
This allows the guards and security staff at the stadium to make a
conclusive check of the personal data on the ticket.
From 27 March on, tickets for the FIFA World Cup 2006™ can be transferred
in the ticket portal under www.fifaworldcup.com
if there is a good reason. You are permitted to transfer the use of a
ticket issued in your name to another person only with the consent of the
WM Organisation Committee. Transfers can be applied for online at the
ticket-portal from 27 March to 9 April, and from 1 May up to two days
before the match concerned. More information on this topic is available
under www.fifaworldcup.com
. Any attempt to sell the ticket will be considered a black-market
transaction and will result in the ticket being blocked.
To make sure that you are not given a forged ticket to the FIFA World Cup
2006™ or get a ticket which will not let you into the stadium, we have
drawn up some important hints for you.
Some police tips:
-
Buy tickets for the FIFA World Cup 2006™ exclusively through www.fifaworldcup.com
or an official Stadium Ticket Centre. More information is given under www.fifaworldcup.com
-
Be sure to refuse offers of other tickets where you cannot tell whether
they are genuine or not (e.g. online offers and ticket agencies on the
internet). Do not encourage black-market trading. Tickets acquired in
this way will not get you into the stadium!
-
Use tickets only when your name is printed on them
-
Always take an identity card or passport with you to the match so that
the guards and security staff can check who you are quickly at the
stadium entrance
